Whimsy, detail, and story-telling define these valentines and their crafter, Rebecca Lloyd. Recipients tell her, “You don’t make valentines—you make Rebecca Valentines.”
As the artist—creator, designer, and producer—Rebecca strives for each valentine to be well-crafted. It’s visible in the stitching in the felt, or the custom-made mailing boxes. Recipients say they see that personal investment every year, right in their hands.
With hearty respect for originality, passion, and work ethic, Rebecca has a long, awarded history creating art. She graduated from the School of Visual Arts with a BFA in Illustration & Cartooning and interest in paper and 3D illustration. When she began a career in marketing, she learned to develop dimensional print projects for direct mail clients. In this medium, graphic design, messaging, and efficient packaging help reveal key messages or a gift. Visual storytelling—with a reward—is still a core characteristic of all her projects. Rebecca currently works as an art director in marketing. She concepts, designs, presents, manages, and mentors.
Outside of work, Rebecca is a happy tourist, perpetually exploring new cities, green spaces, and craft fairs. In 2015, Rebecca welcomed her first son, Avery, who easily became a collaborator on the 2016 Love In Hand valentine. Rebecca works and creates in Wisconsin.
